Armistice Day
On Friday 11th November the school took part in Remembrance Day. A small group of students from Year 9 and staff, took the mini bus during school to Woodford park. There we visited the remembrance memorial and we took part in the remembrance ceremony. First, we waited a little while and watched as the crowd of people from the Woodley community started to form. There was a trumpet that signalled a short silence, which was moving yet beautiful. After that, one by one, each school representatives and individuals paid their respects by laying a wreath on the memorial. After everyone had finished, a couple of remembrance speeches were given.
In that moment, I felt so honoured and proud to be chosen to present our school in such an important way and to remember and thank everyone who have selflessly given their lives so that we can live in a more peaceful world than they did. It was so moving to see the Woodley community come together and is a moment that I will forever look back upon and cherish.
