Sports Festival
On Tuesday 5th July and Thursday 7th July, Year 7-9 had their Sports Festival. I am in Year 8 and will be writing about my experiences of the wonderful and exciting day.
It was fun coming to school in our PE kits because it would save time with getting changed. We (Year 8s) had our Sports Festival period 1 & 2. Our first activity options were either Football, Rounders or Handball. Most people chose Handball. This sport is basically football but you can use your hands. These three sports were fiercely competitive and added for extra fun and excitement. The winner of the Handball tournament was Oak.
Our second activity options were Coconut Shy, Tennis ball throw, Tug of War, Egg and Spoon and the Super Relay. Most of the Year 8s chose to do Tug of War. It looks really fun and super exciting. After the other activities, it was time for the Super Relay where nearly 100 students were on the track, sprinting hard to get the baton over the line. I cheered on the Maple runners.
It was a very fun experience and I’m looking forward to my next Sports Festival in Year 9.
Overall, Oak won the Year 8 Sports Festival with a total of 810 points.
