GCSE Results Day
Waingels is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSE and Level 2 BTEC qualifications this summer. This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards.
There are so many outstanding achievements, and each student warrants a mention of their own personal narrative. However, we have chosen the following which exemplify the quality and calibre of the class of 2021:
- Special mention to the following students whose average grade was between a Grade 8 and Grade 9: Arysha, Jessica, Eleanor, Megan, Ellie B, Vincy, Thomas, Sophie, Teresa, Hadrian, Ellie H, Sadhvi and Amy.
- Khari has a strong set of results across all of his subjects, especially in Maths, History and RS where he achieved a Grade 8.
- Leah-Louise made outstanding progress and achieved a great set of results.
- Liam and Zaid who, in different ways, have shown immense fortitude and resilience.
This cohort of students have suffered more disruption to their education than any other since the second world war. Their achievements are extraordinary under such difficult circumstances and should be celebrated.
Principal, Tom Bartlett said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students. They have shown remarkable maturity and resilience throughout the past two years. We are also very proud of and grateful to our staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study. We wish all our students the very best for the future”.
