Virtual Open Events
We were disappointed that we were unable to open our doors to the community and welcome our prospective new students to an Open Evening this year. Our normally much celebrated annual event has had to be put on hold because of the current Government guidelines. However, we are very proud of the Virtual Open Experience and events that
we have been able to share with the wider community. Mr Bartlett has hosted five live events in which he has been able to share Waingels’ culture and values, information about our curriculum and the school’s commitment to supporting students’ academic
progress alongside their personal development. Mr Bartlett was also able to showcase our fantastic facilities using our exciting new Virtual Tour that you can see here. Participants were able to ask questions and a team of Waingels staff were on hand to respond. We were excited to have had nearly 200 families sign up for these events which are also supported by phone calls from Mr Bartlett and Miss Street our SENCo, for families that had more personal questions. If you missed the events then you can find the PowerPoint that Mr Bartlett used on the Virtual Open Experience webpage here.
The Open Experience webpage hosts lots of fantastic resources that have been contributed to by our whole community. It includes several videos that are worth
exploring “A Day in the Life of a Year 7”, Head Boy and Head Girl speeches, Year 7 interviews, A tour of the DEN and our latest Waingels Promotional Video. You can also find out more about our rich and diverse subjects and wider curriculum. We are also proud of the testimonies that we received from the parents of students that attend
or have recently left Waingels which tell us about the stories of individuals and the support that they have received. I encourage all members of our community to
explore this page as it celebrates Waingels. It is great to see that our young people continue to thrive in such challenging times.
