A Level & BTEC Results 2023
Waingels is pleased to again report strong results by its students in their A Level and Level 3 BTEC qualifications this summer. Over two thirds of students achieved A*-C grades and over half achieved A*-B grades. The Class of 2023 experienced their first formal examinations this summer following the disruption from Covid during their GCSE year. We could not be more proud of the young adults they have become, the resilience they have shown, and of course, the results they have achieved.
There are so many outstanding achievements, and each student warrants a mention of their own personal narrative. However, we have chosen the following which exemplify the quality and calibre of the class of 2023:
James who will be studying Computer Science at Nottingham University
Teresa who will be studying Literature and Music at Sheffield University
Abigail who will be studying for a Level 4 Degree Apprenticeship at Grant Thornton
Liam who will be studying International Development at Reading University
Rose who will be studying Veterinary Medicine at Nottingham University
Rahith who will be studying Law at Reading University
Sophie who will be studying Midwifery at the University of West London
Umar who will be studying for a Level 4 Degree Apprenticeship at LUMEN
Khari who will be taking a gap year before applying for university
Headteacher, Mrs. Humber said, “Once again our students have demonstrated remarkable maturity and resilience to successfully overcome the challenges of the last two years and achieve results that they should be very proud of. Despite not being able to sit formal GCSE exams when they were in Year 11, these students have secured excellent examination results and I feel privileged to have been able to see them become young adults who are ready for the next steps in their life. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our Governors, Parent/Carers and the community for their ongoing support, recognising the strong partnership we have which supports students to reach their full potential. We wish the Class of 2023 the very best for the future”.
