Summer Gala
May the 4th this year saw Waingels very first Summer Gala. It was wonderful to have such an array of ages performing together to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Rivermead Primary and Addington School agreed to join us and be part of this singing event back in January. Since then Natalie Mann, our Head of Music, Miss Bartlett at Rivermead Primary and Sean Coleman from Addington worked tirelessly with all the choirs to ensure that the music on the evening was perfect. All three choirs came together to sing four songs and at the end of the evening there was barely a dry eye in the house! Everyone in the cast worked so diligently to create this wonderful showcase. There were two Drama performances devised by our Year 13 Theatre Studies students and a mixture of Media Studies work from students in Year 11,12, and 13. The quality of the work that our students produce never fails to amaze me and it was great to have the opportunity to share this work and celebrate it with the public. We raised £502.00 in ticket sales for this event; all of which has been donated to Cancer Research UK. We are very proud of all of the students involved in this event. It was a wonderful evening and it was gratifying to sit, watch and listen to our students love of performing.
