Year 1 Tray Garden Project
Waingels Art Department welcomed 32 Year 1 students from 5 local primary schools to
participate in a Jubilee themed Garden Project. The children worked in small groups to
create jewelled insects and twig furniture to be placed in the gardens. In the afternoon
they assembled the gardens with plants kindly donated by local garden centres, bunting,
water features and their insects and furniture made earlier in the day.
The gardens were judged by Woodley Town Mayor, Cllr Janet Sartorel and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Kay Gilder, along with Brenda Milton from the Woodley Flower Club.
Parents were invited to view the gardens and watch the presentations at the end of
the day. It was wonderful to see how proud the children were of what they had created and how excited they were to show off to their parents. Photos of this event can be viewed here.
